“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present” – Alice Morse Earle

Hey Everybody!

I know it’s been a while since my last post but so much has been going on and this is the first chance that I’ve had to write. So here we go ūüôā

Well, I’m almost through my current¬†semester of school, which¬†means that soon I’ll only have ONE more left until graduation! Finally, the light at the end of the tunnel has appeared ūüėÄ

What I wanted to discuss today is how sometimes we make life so much harder than it has to be. We make mountains out of molehills. Why do we do this? Life doesn’t have to be hard or difficult or horrible. It’s all about our perspective. Anything can be interpreted as good or bad. It’s up to us to decide how we’ll view the circumstances that¬†transpire in our lives.

It’s been said that life can hold both Heaven and Hell. But we don’t have to suffer. Bad things will happen (which is¬†inevitable). However, lots of good things will¬†happen too. We just have to keep our eyes open to the beauty while traveling through the darkness.

I just took one of the hardest exams of my life and¬†I put myself through WAY more stress than I needed to. I made myself physically ill both before and after this test. Not to mention the mental and emotional stress that I put myself under as well. And for what reason did I do this?¬†Now granted this was the first exam that I’ve taken in 3 years, however,¬†I didn’t¬†need to panic like I did. By the way, I ended up getting an 84 (which makes me so extremely¬†happy and relieved!). But I was definitely¬†my own worst enemy during this whole process and it was¬†absolutely unnecessary.

I’ve been pushing myself way too hard lately and starting now,¬†I’m making a vow that I¬†will to take better care of myself. Stress can cause such havoc for our health and I want to stay as healthy as possible.¬†This is why I’m putting myself first. No more stressing myself out for no reason (or even if there is a reason). I choose to be happy, peaceful, and positive. I am going to make an effort to see the¬†positive¬†in all the situations that I find myself in (and also the humor). I’d rather be laughing than crying anyhow.

The main point¬†of all of this is that no matter what’s going on in our lives, no matter how bad it is, we¬†WILL make it through it. There’s always a rainbow at the end of the storm.¬†Let’s not take life so seriously all the time. Let’s have more fun. I think we all deserve to do more of the things that fulfill us. We must stay positive and remember that nothing lasts forever. There are lessons to be learned from everything we experience in our lives.¬†Also, remember¬†attitudes are contagious and we impact the people who we interact with. Let’s spread some love and compassion to one another.

Please know that there is always hope and good things are definitely on the way. Stay present and enjoy the journey. Keep the faith and always remember to stay positive. You all are awesome and I send you tons of good vibes as always.

I’ll end on a quote that I thought would be appropriate:

“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end” – John Lennon

My next¬†blog post we be next week so be sure to¬†check it out ūüėČ

Love Always,

Maryann
