So yes, I cut my hair SUPER short. Why did I do it? Partly because I felt like I wanted to be bold and make a big change. I also wanted to prove to myself that I could do it and I felt it was the perfect time since I’m still traveling around New Zealand. It’s always easier to do these things when no one knows you. Most everyone just accepts each other as they are. Much less judgment among fellow travelers.
I got inspired by the singer P!nk and the girl at the salon who had the same hairstyle. What I’m realizing though is this hairstyle is taking a little longer to adjust to then my first pixie cut. It’s just strange to see myself in the mirror but I know I will get used to it. How do you know if you’ll like something unless you try it? Plus, it’s only hair and it will grow back. Remember, it’s the things in life that we don’t do that we end up regretting.
I’m proud of myself and I know I’m beautiful no matter what. The key to short hair is all about rocking your inner self-confidence 🙂
In other news, my job as a hostel manager is going fantastic! I’m loving the city of Invercargill (located at the very bottom of the south island of New Zealand). I’m so happy and blessed that I found this place and it feels great to be saving money again. I’m meeting loads of great people and I’m gaining valuable life experience too.
While my remaining time in New Zealand is quickly passing by, I’m doing my best to stay in the present moment and to live more spontaneously. I hope that when I come home, I am more changed than I feel I am. I know I have been transformed in numerous ways by this journey and I wouldn’t do anything differently or take anything back. Each situation I have gone through has allowed me to grow and learn more about myself and others. I love that I have become such a courageous and outgoing person. I only wish I could see how the change looks from the outside 🙂
Life is about being true to yourself. It’s about spreading love and having fun. Life is too short for drama or negativity. Keep it positive people. There’s always a rainbow waiting after the storm.
I have some big plans for the rest of my New Zealand adventure sooo get ready for it! I know I am 😉
More updates to come soon but until then I send you all my love 🙂
